Told from the first-person viewpoint of Captain Richard Elliott III, now a U.S. Naval pilot, the book takes us back with him to a 1969 summers adventure he experienced with the girl next door when they were just 12. Along the way we follow them through their involvement in the making of a TV commercial in their home town, into a storm at sea, the shipwreck, the rescue, Richie becoming the hero, the first blush of young love, and dreams come true. Angel is a unique family-saga novel, the marriage of fantasy and reality written to inspire, encourage, and excite people to dream big, fight through lifes obstacles, and ultimately recognize that a personal faith in God must be foundational to seeing their dreams fulfilled. There is, however, a darker thread woven throughout much of the book, the emergence of cancer as a real-life threat to the heros mothers health, a thread which turns to gold in the end.
